ஞானபீட அமைப்பிற்கு கடும் கண்டனங்கள்.

திரைப்பட பாடலாசிரியர் வைரமுத்துவிற்கு தமிழின் சார்பாக ஞானபீட விருது வழங்கப்பட்டிருப்பதற்கு ஒரு தமிழ் இலக்கிய வாசகராக கடும் கண்டனங்களை பதிவு செய்கிறேன். இந்திய மொழிகளில் ஞானபீட விருதே இலக்கியத்திற்கான உயரிய விருதாக கருதப்பட்டிருக்கிறது. இதுவரை தமிழின் சார்பாக அகிலன், ஜெயகாந்தன், வைரமுத்து மூவருக்கும் ஞானபீட விருது வழங்கப்பட்டிருக்கிறது. அகிலனும், வைரமுத்துவும் ஞானபீட விருதிற்கு முற்றிலும் தகுதியற்றவர்கள். இந்த விருதை வைரமுத்துவிற்கு வழங்கியதன் மூலம் ஞானபீட அமைப்பு தன்னையும், தமிழையும் சிறுமைப்படுத்தியிருக்கிறது. தமிழிற்கு இது ஒரு தீராத அவமானம்.

I strongly condemn awarding Jnanpith to Tamil lyricist Vairamuthu. Jnanpith award was considered the highest literary award in India. Three Tamil writers were awarded Jnanpith so far. Akilan, Jeyakanthan and Vairamuthu. Akilan and Vairamuthu are totally unqualified for Jnanpith award. Now not only once, but twice Jnanpith committee has awarded two unqualified writers from Tamil. By awarding Jnanpith to Vairamuthu, Jnanpith committee not only insulted Tamil, but also destroyed it’s own reputation.
